exhaustion!
its only wednesday and already i feel like I am ready for the weekend. I got both my son and husband off on Sunday morning to their week away from us. My son left for boy scout camp. The joy of being a girls only week for my daughter and I. all the things we were going to get done the list was made, shopping!! fun fun fun! Sunday was GREAT!! Monday was the frist day of VBS and I dropped her off, to my sis's house where I started 2 of the cutest sock monkeys! Lunch with her and the kids, then we headed home to our house, with the plan to finish the monkey's and jump into the pool to cool off. I walked in the house to see my cell phone flashing, and my voice mail full of messages, the house phone was the same way. First message was from the scout master my son hand an incident, I needed to call him. Next message I need to call him, next message, "we are taking to Frenso to the hospital" Call me! AGH!!!!! Panic Panic Panic!! I felt like I was going to vomit. I grapped up my 9 year old and out the door we went. around the corner to a friends house where I dropped her off. Only my friend wasn't home, just her kids...she has 2 14 year olds, good enough! as I ran to the car I texted my sis to tell her where my kid was could she go get her and the dog (who was at home, inside!) and off to the hospital I flew! I even sent a fb message to my ombudsman so she could contact my husband who is in the navy and has just left for a week on the boat! I arrived at the hospital at 3:30 he had been there since 2:00 and was sitting in the waiting room. It was by far the longest night of my life! long story short he is fine, my husband was able to contact us. and the best news of all! My son was OK!! the Dr said he didn't have a seizure but when you pass out your body twitches. He did pass out but it really had the looks of low blood sugar, and standing with his knees locked. we got home at 4:30 am!! and he was back to scout camp the next day by 11 am, with a back pack full of protein bars and instructions for the scout master to check on him and NO swimming. I have not completed my super cool sock monkeys or much of anything the last couple days. I just thank God my son is ok. I sure love him a whole bunch!

Girl Scout Camp!
My daughter prepares to head off to Girl Scout camp in a little over a week. My son leaves Sunday for Boy Scout camp. In October I found some "Try-it" fabric and got a half yard because I really didn't know what to do with it and knew I had to have it. In December my husband came home from walmart in the middle of our move with to fleece panels of Boy Scout 100 year print. What to do with that??!! so over the spring I've found some boy scout fabric, and some other girl scout fabric but still no idea what to do with it. I was at my adopted Mom's house (she's the mom I got to pick for myself as an adult!) anyways she is an awesome quilter. She had some blankets that were just cut from strips of fabric and quilted onto a piece of fleece. LIGHTBULB moment! I can do that! so home I went with a plan to complete the boy scout quilts for my boys. Easy as pie I was done with those, and turned around to see my little Girl Scout standing there. Oh I can't do that to her!!! so off to the fabric store to find a piece of fleece....and another fabric to add to it. This was super simple to do! I cut the fabric in 6" wide strips, and put a 3" strip in there to add the little bit of Try-it fabric I had. Trimmed it with another fabric in a 3" strip rolled the edges, sewed them down. The I chose to stitch in the ditch the fabric to the fleece. Easy as pie and it is super cute. I finished this in about 2 hours only because I had to make a trip to Michael's to get some paint with my sister! The only thing is you need to get 2 yards of fleece, I only got 1.5 and had to cut the width off and attach it to the bottom.

my Beauty for today.
goal for today!
Well, I guess I'm out of blogging practice! Yesterday we went to the fair, in 100+ weather we didn't last long, just long enough for my daughter to earn the Girl Scout fair patch, look at the exhibits in the AC buildings and get drinks before we headed home. Only to realized we needed to stop to get new goggles for my little one. She's worn hers for the last 4 years and they finally broke. then back to the house where I sat in a chair and fell asleep for the next 2 hours! the heat takes alot out of you. Finally dinner only to realzie I neeeded to make a trip to the store AGAIN!! for buns....then the grill was out of gas....Really can things get any worst? We finally got dinner and i sat down to finish the little birds quilt top I had been working on. I had appliqued the tree, nest, birds and eggs. It turned out wonderful! Now i need to take it to my Adopted mom to have her quilt it. I am still debating a few more leaves. but I can't find where I put the pattern and matching fabric. However I have just discovered I don't know how to load pictures on my net book, so I will have to do to the desk top. Oh the joys of the computer!
